Finance
The Finance Department provides budgeting, financial analysis and policy development, accounting, payroll, purchasing and risk management services to the corporation as a whole and to the public in general. The Department also manages and supports the information technology requirements for the Town. Management of the property taxation, water/wastewater billing and monitoring of the Town’s assessment base is carried out by staff within the Finance Department. The Department also provides accounting services for other Town committees, such as the LaSalle Strawberry Festival.
Duties of the Finance Department:
- Property Taxation: Managing property tax assessments and collections.
- Accounting: Overseeing financial records and transactions.
- Accounts Payable: Processing payments to vendors and suppliers.
- Accounts Receivable: Managing incoming payments from residents and businesses.
- Payroll: Handling employee compensation and benefits.
- Information Technology: Supporting the town's IT infrastructure and services.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating financial risks.
- Budgeting: Preparing and managing the town's budget.
- Long-Term Financial Planning: Developing strategies for future financial stability.
- Asset Management: Maintaining and tracking town assets.
- Policy Development: Creating financial policies and procedures.
- Assessment Base Monitoring: Keeping track of the town's property assessments
