Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a permit to redo my driveway?
Can you put a 'Slow Down' sign on my street?
Possible traffic calming solutions can be found on our Traffic Calming page
Can you find my property bars?
Finding property bars requires a legal survey. Use your favourite search engine to look up 'Surveyors Essex County' for a list of local companies.
Why were 'No Parking' signs installed on my street?
No parking signs can be installed for many reasons including restricted access for emergency vehicles, restricted access for Town equipment such as snowplows, or requests from residents.
To request no parking signs, please review our Traffic Calming page and submit a ticket through our Customer Service Portal.
Why hasn't my road been paved? When will it be?
The LaSalle roads network get evaluated every 2 to 3 years, which provides a good idea of where and why a mill and pave will be completed.
Reach out to public works for upcoming road works to receive a better understanding of where the annual mill and pave budget will be used.
Will the woodchiped trails get paved?
Some trails fall under environmentally sensitive areas (ESA's) which boost the surrounding ecosystem. Trails that include woodchips will be signed with the appropriate reason for the surface change.
Why is there spray paint on my lawn?
Utility marking and locating is a process for identifying and labeling underground public utility mains and cables to protect them from damage during excavation.
Before any digging or excavating can take place, you must notify all utility companies so that they can locate and mark their underground utility. You can arrange for locates of several utilities through Home - Ontario One Call at 1-800-400-2255.
What projects are the Town currently working on?
A list of upcoming, ongoing and past capital projects can be found on the Public Works Projects web page.
