The Canadian Office of Boating Safety has boat safety requirements and recommendations for boating safety. In addition, the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre (PEOC) reminds us that the water level in the Great Lakes remains above average to high. Significant precipitation, strong winds and high waves may increase the risk of flooding in our area. Spring weather often means wet and windy conditions. Front Road and the streets west of Front Road, including the LaSalle Boat Ramp, may experience overland flooding during rainfall events and/or in cases of high winds, wind speed and wind direction. This means that the LaSalle Boat Ramp and the surrounding roads may be closed due to flooding conditions. The Town of LaSalle continues to monitor the conditions and are in regular contact with the Essex Region Conservation Authority.
LaSalle Police have issued a reminder of the speed limits in the Detroit River where the water is in the jurisdiction of the Town of LaSalle. The posted speed limit is 10 km/h.
